Massive Recall for Unsafe Ford Trucks

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that it is issuing a recall over one million Ford trucks due to defective fuel tank straps. The straps used to secure the actual gasoline or diesel tanks have a failed on a number of situations due to corrosion causing the straps to break. This design failure has been the source of severe injury and death. The models involved in the recall include Ford F-150 model years 1997 – 2004; Ford F-250 models with a gross vehicle weight rating less than 8500 pounds that were built between 1997 and 1999 and the Lincoln Blackwood series including the model years 2002 -2003. Owners of these vehicles should contact their local dealership and schedule this important safety repair that is free of cost.
