River Health is Vital to Florida

Our firm is proud to have an active role in the litigation surrounding the water withdrawal scheme endorsed by the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD). The St. Johns Riverkeeper organization formed a legal board which is tasked with protecting the river through enforcement of the law and to assure the public that the various governmental agencies carry out their mission. Unfortunately the SJRWMD has miserably failed and is attempting to allow this precious resource to be pillaged by political and industrial interests. Therefore it has been necessary for litigation to begin with the initial request for an administrative hearing regarding the Districts issuance of a water withdrawal permit requested by Seminole County. The Florida Times Union began a series on the water withdrawal issue and will look at the facts involved.
