St. John's Riverkeeper Appoints attorney Marc Hardesty to Legal Board
Attorney Marc Hardesty was recently honored by being appointed to the legal board of the St John's Riverkeeper. Hardesty has worked for many years on various initiatives to protect the St John's river and the quality of life and habitat along the North Florida stretches of the river. The attached article describes the boards purpose and the scope of its work. http://www.jaxdailyrecord.com/showstory.php?Story_id=48432&text=hardesty
Hardesty primarily focuses on trial litigation involving Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice cases. However, he has always maintained a keen interest in protecting the St. Johns River. Hardesty said "The river is much like a client, it is my responsibility to protect it and make sure the law is applied properly and fairly when someone, some corporation or bureaucratic agency attempts to injure or take advantage of fragile nature of the rivers ecosystem."
The Riverkeeper website describes the environmental efforts of this organization as it deals with the rivers habitat, environmental concerns due to pollution from industry and utilities such as JEA, storm water runoff, failing septic tanks and fertilizer runoff. http://www.stjohnsriverkeeper.org/
